Positives: There are few restaurants in this world that overlook waterfalls but Anthony’s is one of them. There’s hardly a better place to enjoy a cocktail on a summer’s evening then the deck at Anthony’s. If you’re sitting inside, nearly every seat in the joint provides for views of the falls. The lighting is warm and cozy. The bar invites folks to relax.
Negatives: The crab tastes like it smells. Seafood should not have an aroma. Being somewhat inland, fresh seafood is a rarity around Spokane, so it’s the flash-frozen variety that dons our plates. Thus, Anthony’s gets a pass for not serving fresh. Nonetheless, no one likes a $65 plate of crab that’s been sitting in the steamer for five hours already.
The most disappointing part about Anthony’s is food quality relative to price. One can get deep fried appetizers, sirloins cooked on a griddle, steamed veggies, iceberg lettuce, and stale seafood from restaurants far less expensive than Anthony’s.
Recommendation: Go to Anthony’s for a drink. Don’t waste your money on food.
