Positives: El Guacho is one of Seattle’s premier restaurants, which happens to make it one of the West Coast’s premier restaurants. El Guacho goes for traditional and they do traditional better than most everybody. Dimly lit, tuxedo-clad-staff, and perhaps the best steaks in metro Seattle — like 28-day dry-aged best — there are few that provide a dining experience better than El Guacho.
The sides are a la carte, varied, and delicious. They have a sommelier on staff, which is all I need to say about their wine selection.
El Guacho is not messing around. Count on spending a few hundred for the experience but it is worth every penny because it’s among the best restaurants this side of the Mississippi.
Negatives: El Guacho’s peppercorn sauce is of a non-cream based variety. I’m not sure how I feel about this. My guess is El Guacho’s has a Worcester base. My peppercorn sauce preference is stick with the basics.
Recommendation: Put El Guacho on your bucket list. Get the filet Pittsburgh Style and have your server pair it with something nice.
