Positives: Flatstick Pub’s beer selection is deep and respectable.
Negatives: There’s a new hyped-up bar and restaurant downtown called Flatstick Pub. Its niche is catering to the miniature golf type, only with plenty of beer and pizza on the side. Flatstick Pub is a glorified Chucky Cheese, it’s just missing the animatronic band lip syncing to “Every Boy, Every Girl”. Take your kids there. Have fun. But me and my buddies prefer a more adult themed environment.
Us middle agers with disposable income that like to golf scoff at Flatstick and their schtick. If I wanted to hang out at Chucky Cheese, I’d make more babies. As it stands, nobody wants to make more babies with me, so Chucky Cheese joints are tragically not a part of my immediate or intermediate future.
Recommendation: Does Flatstick Pub add character and energy to downtown? Yes. Obviously, that’s a good thing. Is it a joint where upstanding bureaucrats, politicians, attorneys and local businesspeople choose to hang out? No. We prefer our beer and pizza playing real golf.
