Positives: It’s a rare event when food quality is higher than food price on SpokanePlanner’s rating system, but The Flying Goat is a rare event, indeed. A neighborhood, artisan pizza joint located in the Audubon/Downriver area, The Flying Goat is well-known for being one of the best “neighborhood” restaurants in Spokane. The pizzas all come in one size, can easily satisfy two adults, and only cost around $14 per.
The Flying Goat serves a broad selection of craft brews and ciders.
Negatives: The dining room and bar area are too small. On a Friday or Saturday, it’s hard getting in without a long wait (and they don’t take reservations). Not a bad problem to have if you’re The Flying Goat, however. Finally, their wine selection leaves a bit to be desired, as in they only have a few choices to serve from and they are of table wine quality. If they were to up their game with a robust and highly rated cabernet or rich red blend, it would sell.
Recommendation: The Flying Goat is the best artisan pizza joint in town. Affordable prices, great service, and comfy neighborhood atmosphere is a winning recipe.
